Finnish foreign trade decreased by 10 %

Finnish exports decreased by 11 per cent and imports by 10 per cent in August compared with the year before according to the preliminary statistics provided by Finnish Customs.

The value of Finnish exports in August was 4,4 billion euros and the value of imports 4,6 billion euros.

The trade balance showed a deficit of 190 million euros in August. Calculated from January to August there was a deficit of almost 1,2 billion euros. Under the same period in the year 2012 the balance of trade showed a deficit of almost 1,7 billion euros. In 2012 the deficit for August was 141 million euros.
